Madeline Marie Wier was born last night at 11:10 PM. Around 10PM, Ashley began to show increased signs of severe Preclampsia and the doctors immediately decided to perform and emergency C-section. We were in the O.R. within 45 minutes of the call.
Maddie is premature by 11 weeks and weighs 2lbs., 4oz. She is being cared for in the neonatal ICU and we are confident she is under the best care possible. I've been to see her twice this morning and she looks fantastic. She scored a 10 last night on her Apgar test!
Ashley is being observed over the next 24 hours and recovering well, but we're told it could be a few days before she can go home.
Maddie has a long road ahead, but we're thankful to be past the first big milestone. We'll continue to update everyone on her progress until the day we go home! We'll get some pictures up as soon as we get some good ones. Please continue praying for Ashley's quick and full recovery and Maddie's early days of development.
I was up till 12:30 last night waiting for Mom to call and give details! Dad and I were praying like crazy. So glad everything is ok! I can't wait to meet my new niece!!!
