In Stitches

Maddie underwent minor surgery this morning to repair a hernia in her abdomen. She was intubated and placed under general anesthesia for the duration of the procedure, but was quickly able to resume breathing afterward. She was returned to the NICU unit at Dell and we were able to sit with her in the unit. She's a bit groggy and doesn't feel like eating right now, but they act like that's somewhat normal.

The doctors will keep her under observation for the next 24 hours. We assume after that time, she'll be cleared to finally come home! We'll of course keep everyone updated when that time comes.
