We apologize for slacking off on our blog posts... Maddie is doing well, but we haven't had too much news to report for the past week. Today, the nurse practitioner decided it is time to start Maddie on bottle feeds/nursing. They will be introduced very slowly, and she will still be supplemented with milk through a feeding tube in her nose for a while. She is also learning to maintain her body temperature, and her temp is no longer being monitored in the isolet (which means she gets to wear big girl clothes now).
Maddie also moved to a new home this weekend. The father of a 37 week old, 10 lb baby (yeah, you read that right) tested positive for the flu on Saturday so all the babies in Maddie's bay, including Maddie were moved to a new "area" and are being watched closely. No babies have shown any symptoms of the flu, but please pray for protection from illness for Maddie.
I think this is the first pic I've seen of her with her eyes open. Oh I just want to kiss her face!!
ReplyDeleteAshley and Byron, Maddie is so precious, and I can't wait to meet her. I'm praying constantly for her. Much Love, Stephanie

ReplyDeleteGreat Pic! She is a model of perfection. Getting bigger & stronger. She'll be ordering sushi before long....Can you get that in a "to-go" bottle? And when we meet : your face to my face: we shall look into each others eyes & see the eyes of God......... until then, mizpah B&C
