Saturday marked Maddie's 35th week of gestational development and today is her 6 week birthday! She had a great weekend and managed to put on several ounces. She's now weighing in at 3lbs, 15oz. In the next few days we'll be celebrating the big 4 pound mark! She's also been making strides in her feeding schedule. Nurses this weekend began trying to give her a bottle and she's even trying to breast feed a bit.
The major milestone of the weekend was weaning Maddie off of her breathing cannula. It was removed on Thursday and she has been breathing well since. It's really provided us the ability to see her face better and has further expanded the debate about who she may take after more. We're also hopeful that the absence of the cannula will relieve her distended belly some. We're told her tummy is just developing slowly and that it will take some time before she can comfortably tolerate the amount of food she's given.
I believe our Maddie has on lip gloss! She is so beautiful. She is really a gift, and we are all thankful for her great progress.

ReplyDeleteIt is so wonderful to see Maddie's precious little face. She is absolutely beautiful. We are all so excited about her weight and her progress. We know that you so are both so proud and exciting about her progress as well. Way to go Madeline.
