Dad got a turn to hold Maddie last night and he didn't even drop her once! She slept for the majority of the hour, which I assume means I didn't mess it up too badly.
Today marked Maddie's 32nd week of gestational development and we were given some positive reports this morning. We spoke to the respiration specialist and he thought they may try to take her off the cannula (breathing tube) fairly soon. She's been tolerating her feedings well and put on an ounce last night for a grand total of 2lbs, 11oz. They've had her on a continuous feeding schedule to keep her blood sugar levels stable. Over the weekend, Maddie also had her second brain ultrasound, which was normal (yea!).
Maddie was also moved over the weekend to a new NICU bay, which means a new rotation of nurses. We'll definitely miss some of the nurses that have been caring for her since birth, but we're of course confident that the new group will be just as fantastic
Thank you for your continued prayers, calls and concern. We're so fortunate to have so many wonderful people in our lives. We truly feel like we have an entire team of supporters behind us for the long haul.

Bravo Dad! Good job! Mom was, no doubt standing by. You both look great as parents. Keep that girl growing stronger every day & we will keep up with prayers for all of you. Love B&C
