Nailed it...

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I'm kind of awesome at changing diapers. I tried my hand at it today and nailed it !  I find that changing diapers in an incubator is similar to assembling a ship in a bottle.

Maddie had a good day.  They've taken her off her breathing gear, which means she's no longer getting little "puffs" of air when she breathes.  She still has a little breathing tube, but she doesn't seem to miss the breathing assistance.  It's really nice to be able to see her whole face without the obstruction of the scuba gear she was wearing.

They've also increased her feeding volume and she's digesting most of the milk without a problem.  We're looking forward to seeing it go straight to her hips & thighs.  They took her little hat off and she has quite a bit of hair.  Ashley's going to try for a marathon holding session tomorrow to see how Maddie responds.  We're hoping to go 2 to 3 hours.

P.S. Sorry for the crummy quality on the cell phone picture.  We're still trying to remember to grab the camera on the way out the door.

  1. This is awesome news! I bet she's got a cute nose, now that it isn't twice its real size from the breathing apparatus. It must be the Anderson in her that is giving her hair. :-)

Nice to hear that you are both getting to spend time with her and hold here more. Maddie sounds like she is alot like her dad, a real fighter. Sorry that we didn't get to you see while we were in Austin this weekend, but figured that there will be another time. Ii look foward to reading about the day you guys take her home. Congratulations and we love you all. Aunt Kerri
